In February 1972, KVSA was founded in Philadelphia, led by Dr. Il-Hwa Lee and 29 Korean veterinarians to promote professional knowledge exchange and fellowship with the veterinary fields of Korea and the United States. In 2023, More than 350 members are currently interacting with one another in veterinary practices, academia, and veterinary-related business fields in U.S and Canada.

KVSA has held banquet meetings, golf tournaments, and continuing educations for members, and offers externship programs and scholarship programs for veterinary students in Korea and U.S. KVSA publishes its own newsletters to inform major news among its members and hosts a Holiday Banquet every year, inviting all members, sponsors, and VIP guests in Southern California.

재미한인수의사회는 북미 지역에서 활동하는 한인 수의사들의 모임을 대표하는 비영리 단체입니다.

재미한인수의사회는 1972년 2월 필라델피아에서 이일화 회원과 29 명의 한인수의사분들이 주축이 되어 한국과 미국 수의학계와의 정보 지식 교류 및 친목 도모의 취지로 창립되었습니다. 2023년 현재, 300여명의 회원들이 북미 전역에서 재미한인수의사를 통해 수의임상, 학계, 그리고 수의 관련 사업 분야 등에서 활발히 교류하고 있습니다.

본 회는 회원들에게 다양한 친목 모임과 골프대회, 그리고 첨단수의학의 소개하는 전문적인 강의를 제공하고 있고, 한국 수의과대학 학생 초청 교육 및 미국수의과 대학 학생들을 위한 장학 사업도 하고 있습니다. 또한, 매년 자체 회보 출간을 통하여 회원들 간의 주요 소식을 알리고, 대외적으로 많은 중요 내빈을 모시고 매년 연말 총회 및 파티를 주최하고 있습니다.
